THE JACKSON FOUNDATION

The Raymond Jackson Scholarship and Mentoring Program was established in 1996 by Dr. Raymond Jackson and his wife, Mrs. Inez Austin Jackson. It is for exceptionally talented African-American high school pianists living in the Greater Washington, DC area who demonstrate a desire and potential for a career in music with a strong component in piano performance.

With the goal to become a full-time undergraduate Piano Performance Major in a major music school, the program offers free weekly lessons, supports attendance at concerts and keyboard festivals, and provides guidance in making career decisions.

The Jackson Foundation considers financial assistance for exceptionally talented African-American pianists who have been accepted into an accredited full-time undergraduate music program with a concentration in classical piano performance.
